A little Driver question

I don't have the latest driver, will prince of persia run faster on my computer if I update them? The reason that I can't update them is because when I do, something goes wrong.
I can't install them, when I restart my computer, it says that there was no control panel found.

ATI's drivers are in two parts. The driver and the control panel. If its telling you that the control panel couldnt be found then you must have only the driver installed.

The best thing to do is to go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Control Panel, then the ATI Display Driver and reboot. This way you will have totally removed the old drivers. When your machine reboots it will use a standard display driver so all you have to do then is install the new drivers. I would recommend getting the combined driver and control panel download from ATI's site. Its a lot easier than installing them seperatly and you cant go wrong.

The new drivers may give you a small increase in performance but dont count on getting a big boost.

Anyways, I tried, when I ask most people, they say something like uninstall the drivers and then install them again, but it never works, the only drivers that work are on the ones on a CD.
