Why would you say that? The sp portion of SC PT was short but actually kinda fun and not buggy at all. If you are referring to the MP portion, get your facts straight because it was made by Ubisoft Annecy, in France. So if you change the title of your topic from ubi shanghai to ubi annecy, I'd agree.

Whiners are getting all too common on these forums. I mean they arent even whining about specific things, they are just whining about the game/company in general.

I stock refried beans at the grocery store I work at.

lmao, this thread was made for no reason because i never play this game anymore, dreakon takes everything too seriously and has to realize that this is game is a failure to some (quite large) extent...it has so many bugs its not funny

and seriously, whats it matter if you stock refried beans where you work?

the playerbase of this game has the right to whine; they payed for a game and arent getting the amount of respect and treatment they deserve. and what are you talking about? ive been a well-known whiner (=D) with a specific point of matter that has failed to meet proper standards as my subject of whinagism.

I don't feel like a big drawn out thing about this. Just know this.

Whining threads rarely actually get what the problem is fixed. You should PM Rhoulette with your problems so she can talk to the devs rather then plague the community with so many whining posts.

lol dreakon you lack so much common sense - i had already tried that; we are at the end of the chain and we wont see anything practically until chaos theory comes out - ubisoft doesnt want to waste time on a dying product. have you not seen my lists of all problems and widely agreed upon changes to make the game more like it was intended to be? im just saying this due to the length of time that we get neglected

So if Ubi wont respond through Rhoulette and wont read our posts, how will more and more complaint threads do anything but annoy people?

About SCPT dieing, theres more then enough people playing for a 2v2 game. If I make a game it's usually filled in about 5 minutes max, then we play until someone leaves and about 3 minutes or less to replace. I don't consider it dead, regardless of Ubi's help. When they take the servers down and we can't connect at all anymore, then it's dead.

no dreakon, the thing is NOTHING furthers progress - i went on during mid-day today and there was half as many people as there had been during the old "peak" player output. the only person getting annoyed by "complaint" threads is you dreakon, and anyways, how many people can be annoyed? there is only like..a max of 10,000 PC players...so who cares if they get annoyed right? just 10,000 people who mean nothing; ubisoft seems to agree. they are just letting us rot with these old problems and making the new players who fall victim to purchasing this game full of problems see the way they neglect us the hard way.

Well fine. Maybe I am the only one being annoyed by these threads, though I doubt it. I really don't give a **** anymore. Have fun in whatever useless thread you create next time. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Both sides have a point here.

There are way too many whiners. I think the amount of whiners makes Ubi turn a blind eye to us PC players. Kinda like the boy who cried wolf thing.

However, it is well deserved.

Last week I went to play online at 8-9 pm EST, which would be a prime time spot since people all over the U.S. are up and getting home from work. There were 80 people online. 80!

I've had the game for a few months. When I first started playing, the average was about 180, and I never really saw it drop below 100. Why is this happening? Because, once people overcome the HUGE learning curve the game has, they realize something. And that something is that although this game has a cool concept, it's really buggy and annoying to play it. They get tired of searching forever for servers and getting dropped from games. Then, you deal with the strategy change that comes with playing with better players, meaning that you can't use stealth anymore. Why? Because anyone who's good at merc knows where you are as soon as that sound detector thing goes off. Try and crawl all the time and sooner or later you have to shoot out a motion sensor or hack a door, giving the merc's messages that should more aptly read "I'm over here!" The result is a game that, no matter which map, consists of both spies rushing to an nd, harassing the mercs until one side is killed/knocked out, and neutralizing. There's really not much thought involved in that, which is (I presume) why the game was made - to use thought as a spy. People have a right to whine about this because they paid $50 for a new single player and multiplayer game. In effect, they can't enjoy one half of what they bought, which is reason to complain.

And then back to Dreakon's point - whining accomplishes nothing. Not only because they don't read the forums, but Ubi, in their marketing wisdom, decided that it would be a wonderful idea to release a third sequel within 6 months of the second. Can anyone say Matrix? Anyway, their development team is busy finishing SCCT, which I'm sure will once again be a great single player game, but don't expect them to work on SCPT in the meantime. The part I personally am disappointed about is that SCCT will not have the spy vs. merc gameplay, but only a co-op. I'm not a big fan of co-ops, so that leaves me kind of ambivelent towards SCCT. Do I want to play through a third single player game that is just a tweaked version of the first for $50 with a multiplayer I don't like? Not really, which is why I'm goint to pass on SCCT, unless they add in a spy vs. merc multiplayer that doesn't have bugs.

That is why I, along with many others, would like Ubi to fix up SCPT. This game would last us years if they would just fix the bugs, and follow up with gameplay tweaks. Take a page from Valve, who has made a fortune because of Counter-Strike, which has well over 10,000 players at any given time. SCPT can't break 200. And it's cheaper to patch a game than to make a new one. And when people truly enjoy a game that has no bugs and great gameplay, they recommend it to friends, thus increasing profit. But hey, Ubi is Canadian, which I guess explains it all.

The only way that they will change their ways is if SCCT makes a lot less money than either SCPT or SC. I doubt that will happen because even though many of us are discontent with the multiplayer aspect of PT, we're going to go and buy CT just for the single player experience. Not to mention there are many people who do enjoy co-op play, and will buy the game to explore that. I hope, for their sake, that it isn't as bug-ridden as PT's multiplayer.

Aha! i didnt know they were canadian!

montreal is busy on SCCT..i dont know what shanghai is doing

but also, i did agree that whining accomplishes nothing - just that i was doing it for fun and that nothing else works (i wasnt suggesting that i was thinking whining would work). lil dear xietsu just wanted to let everyone know how shanghai resembles my first impression of refried beans when i was a little kid..LOL

And that attitude by the developers is why there were only 43 people online at 4:30 pm EST today - none of them American.
