Hi!

A lot of you have been playing my Star Gate map series for Settlers. Others of you may be wondering about it. This was an effort I under-took as a seriously dedicated fan of the Star Gate SG-1 TV show. I began the Star Gate maps back before the Portal's Lost In Space map project began. So far, there are 9 mission maps in the series. Yet, where is mission 10?

It's been a long time since I created any new maps under map own nick directly in the Map Base, much less any new Star Gate missions....

I've been real busy in other Settlers map projects, but I am happy to report that Star Gate mission 10 will be released in June as part of the SPC over at the Portal. I have three verions of the map, Easy, Medium, and Hard.

For Star Gate fans, below is a list of all the Star Gate mission maps, with a link to each, plus a short description. Simply click the link for a whole description and option to down-load the map. Only the first few mission maps require the Trojan version, The rest are all non-Trojan. The mission maps are all single player maps, of course.

Lastly, if anyone has complete the entire series, please post; or post in this thread when you do.

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 1)

Easy to medium, about 3 hours, Trojan version required, and the objective is to eliminated all enemies.

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2678&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 2)

Easy to medium, about 1.5 hours, Trojan version required. Save 384 units of "Naquadah" (sulfur).

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2748&r=25&a=&sd=

For longer play (save 640 "Naquadah"):

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2749&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 3)

Easy leisure, 3 hours, non-Trojan, a rescue mission map and protect your Tok'ra ally. A fun map where you lots of islands to explore.

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2759&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 4)

Medium difficulty and very intense play, non-Trojan, perhaps my favorite map in the series... this may be considered "hard" be some players, but after getting the know the map a bit, it should become "easier." I recommend restarting play for "keeps" after playing it for the first time for 5 minutes. It'll take about 3 hours to play. Your main mission is to intensely protect your ally's capital building (a "castle"), ensure you ally's production doesn't stop, and use or invent diversion tactics to accomplish this protection of these objectives! You must defeat the enemies. You have a swampy alcove that is great for defense tactics.

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2867&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 5)

Easy to medium play, 2 hours, the mission is to save 448 "Naquadah" (sulfur), some intense play will occur during the game. This map is about exploration tactics and stategic settling efforts! It and can become difficult if the obvious correct decisions are not made. You must focus on saving "Naquadah" (sufur) at the pyramid (honor system invoked here). Defeat enemies if and when possible. You do not have access to iron ore! Use "Nox magic" for goods, but try not to focus too much on making an army, because that is not the mission of this map.

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2934&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 6)

Medium to hard difficulty. Your objective is to survive a "Battle of the Alamo" reenactment for just 2 hours or defeat all enemies, which can be extremely hard. I suggest surviving for 2 hours instead!

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m2975&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 7)

Medium to hard difficulty, only about 1.5 hours play. This map is one my more uniquely decorated maps. You begin in a very bad situation surrounded by enemy territory on all sides. You must take such territory and create a functional settement and achieve the goal of the map also: capture the Goa'uld "Naquadah" (sulfure) mines and find, then capture the planetary ion defense cannon! The game play of this map is fast-paced and intense. Play on speed 1 only, or you may regret it! Watch everything happening, explore rapidly and carefully!

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m3056&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 8)

After that last map, you get a calm in the storm. This map is easy leisure play. It was created by the efforts of SloDragon and myself. Duration is about 4 hours. This map involves using battle tactics and catapults.... and the DT tribe is also involved.

"Hammond: Team, your mission is to resue Teal'C and Daniel and liberate this world from the Goa'uld. According to Celmak, the System Lords and Apophis (Green) will retreat from this world once Apophis's Elite Jaffa (Blue) are defeated. Stay focused on defeating Apophis's Elite Jaffa. We believe they are located in the South West."

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m3139&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 9)

This map involves a few minor, but tricky "puzzles." It takes about 4 hours to play. Difficulty is easy to medium, but hard if bad tactical decisions are made regarding exploration and settling. This map requires some good logic and thinking, and a solid understanding of how the Settler's game engine works.

http://www.settlers4.net/mapsection/bin/s4maps?id=m3210&r=25&a=&sd=

Star Gate SG-1 (mission 10)

This map can't be released yet, but it is finished and is the last in the Star Gate series, so I wrote a long story for it.

Here is the story (enjoy):

General Hammond: Team, during routine exploring of new gate worlds, we came across Carter's father, Jack. He was also exploring, but to find a new homeworld for the Tok'ra. He was able to provide us the location of a primary world belonging to the Goa'uld we know as Lord Zipacna, whom we have had dealings with before on Tollan. Zipacna likely provided the new mothership shield technology to Anubis, but we aren't sure.

O'Niel: Didn't he threaten to "show us no mercy" if we ever met again?

Carter: That was another Goa'uld.

O'Niel: Ah, they all hate us.

Hammond: The Tok'ra have asked us to aid them in capturing this world, or at least to steal the technology there. They have learned the world is used for reseach and likely contains the shield proto-types that can survive an Asgard mothership attack. It is a secret world that is not very well gaurded by Goa'uld motherships due to being so deep in Goa'uld space.

Jack: The Tok'ra need a new home world. They report that if we captured the world , then they should be able to use the Goa'uld technology there to defend this world and make it their new home world and base.

O'Niel: It won't be a secret?

Teal'C: It will not matter if it can be defended.

Hammond: We stand to gain access to many Goa'uld technology secrets if we capture this world for the Tok'ra. With the recent loss of the Tok'ra home world and the loss of many of the Tok'ra, this plan is apparently thier best hope, and ours as well.

Jack: The problem is this world is heavily populated by many Goa'uld soldiers. This is something new which we haven't encountered before.

O'Niel: They really don't like us, do they? Thier attempt to destroy Earth with that naquadah enhanced asteroid didn't work, so an invasion might be in the works?

Jack: We don't know that for sure. We do know Anubis is seeking to consolidate his power and rule the Goa'uld.

Hammond: The Tok'ra have also reported finding a large stash of a powerful form of naquadah.

Carter: Is it the mineral "Naquadria" as on Jonas' world of Maridian?

* Jonas is a new SG member whom has replaced the late SG member, Daniel Jackson who "ascended." Jonas is from the Earth-like country of Kelowna of the planet Meridian where his people were experimenting with naquadria for weopons use.

Jack: Naquadria is used for powering Goa'uld mothership hyperdrive engines.

Jonas: This naquadria would be a great find.

O'Neil: This techno talk just gets me all excited. What are the principle scientific and military targets? Are there any friendlies?

Hammond: There are no friendlies, but there is an active Jaffa rebellion on this world. However, they know nothing of our plans and will likely consider us an ememy. We will need to avoid thier operations. The Tok'ra predict the Jaffa will be defeated in several days, but that should allow us time to establish a military base on a particular island.

Jack: The island is "holy" to the Jaffa...

Teal'C: The Jaffa will not be happy about our establishing base on that island, but it is likely they will be too busy with the Goa'uld before they can do something about our presence. However, we will need to be careful.

Hammond: The Tok'ra have indicated that the private home of the Goa'uld Zipacna contains much information and research. Also, there is a large Goa'uld research facility which contains the bulk of what we hope to find and make use of.

Carter: So how do we traval to a world with no star gate?

Hammond: The Asgard have again offered thier help in transportation. They will beam us and our supplies down to the island. I will be sending you several divisions of marines. We need to win this one, team.

O'Niel: It's nice of the Asgard to help us again.

Jonas: No doubt they see the value in that...

O'Niel: I'm sure they want to acquire better shield technology for thier ships.

Teal'C: It could be a "win-win" for all of us?

Hammond: Yes.

Jack: A a swift and tactical ground defeat of this world's Goa'uld and Jaffa defense forces will result in a heavy blow to Goa'uld moral, but we must be decisive and effective.

O'Niel: Goa'uld have morals? [laughs]

Teal'C: Yes, in a manner of speaking... in terms of displayed strength in a tactical victory, but how long they respect a victory is debatable. But if we are highly effective in battle and win fast... and we "score" high in thier way of thinking, then we will earn a degree of respect rather than revenge. If we are sloppy and fail to capture the world, then they will seek revenge for our attack. That will not be good for the people of Earth.

O'Niel: I'm bet'n they were going to attack anyway!

Teal'C: All the more reason to destroy this Goa'uld army before it is sent to Earth.

Hammond: We will succeed. Prepare to depart. The Asgard will beam you all up at the gate room.

The Asgard will wait in orbit with several ships while you to complete the operations. Signal them when you are ready to return. Again, this world doesn't have a star gate.

A victory here on this world will change the tide toward the favor the Tok'ra, the Asgard, and Earth. We need to win this one, people.

For those stuck on misson 7, the big thing to remember is not to waste any time in finding and capturing the ion cannon area at the game's beginning; expand around it and create a settlement there; waste no time.. expand West and North West from the ion cannon area in order to damage the AI economy (the AI has only a few towers). Use catapults to capture the well gaurded "naquadah" (sulfur) mines in the South East area of the map on the coast. Capture the little island in South East of the ion cannon for a good place to make a strong defense. Avoid actively fighting the Jaffa and Goa'uld.

If all goes well, you win the map barely in time before a major enemy attack can occur to defeat you.

I hope this helps without providing any true "spoilers."
